Stuart Yalden

Managing Director

Stuart joined the team in 2011 after a career running Civil Engineering design projects internationally. In his role at G W Martin, he has overseen a bold modernisation programme across the business and is an enthusiastic supporter of developing the next generation of engineers. 

Always an engineer, he enjoys the problem-solving challenges that G W Martin loves to solve, and of course, developing new business relationships across the UK manufacturing landscape. When he’s not at work, he can often be found pedalling his way around the south coast’s country lanes or taking to the air in various flying machines.

Stephen Dixon

Operations Manager

With 36 years in precision engineering, Stephen has seen the industry from just about every angle. As Operations Manager, he oversees production, subcontract operations and health and safety, making sure the manufacturing process runs efficiently and delivers the standards G W Martin’s customers expect.

What sets Stephen apart is how much he believes in the people around him. The technical side comes naturally after nearly four decades in the industry, but it’s developing the team, creating a positive environment and helping individuals reach their potential that he finds most rewarding.

Outside work, he and his wife spend their weekends exploring the New Forest with their two Shih Tzus in tow – the perfect way to switch off before the next challenge.

Richard Holdsworth

Quality Manager

Richard joined G W Martin in January 2020 (just as the world was about to get very complicated) and has been the backbone of the company’s quality standards ever since. As Quality Manager, he oversees everything quality-related across the shop floor, from maintaining certifications and managing audits to making sure every product that leaves the building meets the mark.

What drives Richard is the culture side of the role as much as the compliance side. Getting everyone to take genuine pride in doing things right, not just ticking boxes, is something he works at every day.

Away from work, he’s happiest out on the golf course, exploring local footpaths, or spending weekends with his grandchildren making memories that’ll stick.

Paul Carter

Technical Engineer

Paul brings over 30 years of precision engineering experience to his role as Technical Engineer, overseeing the technical side of the manufacturing process, including CNC programming, CAD/CAM, tooling and machinery. His focus is on making sure every project is planned and executed properly, from initial enquiry through to finished component.

What Paul enjoys most is seeing a job come together across every stage of the process. No single step works in isolation, and getting each one right is what delivers the best result. He’s equally committed to passing that knowledge on, helping colleagues build their skills and confidence along the way.

Outside work, you’ll find him on the golf course or at the dartboard, with plenty of time set aside for family at weekends.
